It is surprising that no club has come in for Whittingham before now as his goal scoring and assist record at Cardiff City is terrific and the cash strapped Welsh club may have to sell at a cut price. The English midfielder started his career at Aston Villa and the midlands club are the front runners for his signature in January as they look to bolster their relatively small squad ahead of a tough second half of the season.
