Heurelho Gomes

|

Since the arrival of Brad Friedel Gomes has seen his chances of getting a game almost completely disappear but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad goalkeeper. On his day Gomes is as good as any keeper out there and has put in some truly vintage performances in his life. Moreover, Gomes is only 30 and we have seen from keepers in the past that their best years tend to come in their early to mid thirties. David James is a perfect example of a keeper that was labelled as error-prone but managed to put that reputation behind him in his latter years. Gomes only has six months left on his contract and you can be pretty sure that Redknapp would be willing to let him go.
