1st Feb – Liverpool 2 – 0 Bolton Wanderers (Lancashire Senior Cup) – A seventh clean sheet in 12 outings this season for the reserves with Ayala starting all but one of the matches demonstrates the Spanish defender’s abilities. Martin Kelly returned to fitness during this match and played in a class backline which also included Chris Mavinga and Stephen Darby. The Reds ran out 2-0 winners after goals from David Amoo and Damien Plessis, sending the Merseysiders through to the semi-finals.
