David Amoo29th Mar – 2 – 1 () – returned from injury as Liverpool reserves extended their unbeaten run to 16 games. Goals from and a deflected free kick sealed victory but Amoo was particularly impressive on the wing for the Reds. His first involvement came on ten minutes when he combined well with Lauri Dalla Valle and Dani Pacheco to set up with a low drive which went just wide. Not long after, Amoo had his first chance of the match but he could only head wide from Pacheco’s dangerous corner. In what was a real open game, Amoo proved a real threat from the right wing and the 18 year old again was in the thick of the action before half-time when he forced a good save from Bolton keeper after an excellent run and shot from the right. First team regular came on at the interval for El Zhar and he was the beneficiary of an Amoo flick on, on the hour mark, but the striker could only fire his shot wide of the post. Ten minutes later, Ngog finally got his goal after good work from and an own goal from six minutes after, from a Bruna free kick, all but sealed the three points. The last ten minutes saw the Reds pile on the pressure as they looked for a third and Amoo, along with Ngog and Bruna, had attempts on goal. Slovakian however reduced the deficit in stoppage time for the Trotters but it came too late to be anything other than a consolation. Young winger Amoo will be very pleased with his performance on his return from injury and will hope to build on this display as the Reds look to chase down Man Utd at the top of the table.

I really do think that this guy is a talent. I hope he gets some pre season games under his belt with the first team in the summer and can get on the bench at least a few times next season. He’s ten times more threatening than El Zhar could ever be.

I seriously don’t believe it. I pray Wayne Rooney is better for the world cup!
