Liverpool 2 – 1 Manchester City (Premier Academy League) – Michael Ngoo started the match as Liverpool Under 18s recovered from their defeat in the FA Youth Cup to Watford with an impressive victory over Manchester City. Rodolfo Borrell’s men lost 6-2 at home to City back in September but there was no such humiliation on Saturday as they run out 2-1 winners. Striker Michael Ngoo didn’t get on the scoresheet but he was part of a side determined to put recent results behind them. There was no doubt that the Academy side deserved the win and goals from defender Stephen Sama and substitute Icelandic star Kristjan Gauti Emilsson sealed victory. The Under 18s now lie 5th in Premier Academy League Group C after 8 wins, 1 draw and 10 defeats, but they have played extra games than the sides lower in the table.
