LFC Youth Watch – Nathan Eccleston v Brentford

|

10th Apr – Brentford 3 – 0 Huddersfield (League One) – Huddersfield striker and Liverpool loanee Nathan Eccleston started on the bench for the Terriers and was unable to prevent his side slipping to a 3-0 away defeat at Brentford. It was 0-0 at half time but 3 goals in 20 minutes from Charlie McDonald (2) and Lewis Grabban sealed victory at Griffin Park. Eccleston came on as a sub on 75 minutes for James Berrett, after the first goal went in from Charlie McDonald, but once again manager Lee Clark elected to pick the youngster on the wing. The 19 year old did however endeavour to do his best and put in a fantastic cross for Neal Trotman who could only direct his effort into the hands of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. Two subsequent goals from Lewis Grabban and Charlie McDonald in the last ten minutes mean the Terriers are sweating on their position in the Playoffs. They lie in 6th place, level on points with Colchester United with 5 games to  go.
