Liverpool may well be looking into the possibility of signing out of favour Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz according to CaughtOffside.com. There was rumoured interest back in December when Rafa Benitez was looking for a target man but nothing came of it, and now with Santa Cruz way down the pecking order under Roberto Mancini, the Merseyside club may look to capitalise on his unwanted status and weigh in with a low offer. The Paraguayan has only started six Premier League matches since switching from Blackburn Rovers for £17.5million last summer and the 28 year old will surely not be too keen on another season on the bench. Manchester City may hold out for a large offer for the striker, although the site suggests that Benitez could offer Yossi Benayoun as a makeweight in the deal as Mancini is rumoured to be keen on the 30 year old Israeli international.
