Reds “closing in” on £3m left back?

|

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Liverpool are “”closing in” on a £3million deal for Fulham’s Paul Konchesky. Roy Hodgson is keen to add another left back to the squad before the end of the transfer window and the Reds boss is keen to go back to his old club to sign Konchesky. The 29 year old has only a year left on his contract, and with Hodgson on limited funds at Anfield, he is looking to bring in the Englishman on a cut price deal. Roy used centre back Daniel Agger in the position against Arsenal on Sunday, and with Emiliano Insua surplus to requirements, and Fabio Aurelio the only other option at full back after re-signing for the club, a move for Konchesky is seen as good business by the Liverpool manager, according to the paper.

Kudos to Daniel Agger he really played well being not his prefered position. Back up for a comfortable guy at that position is good, bearing in mind the price and Roy knows him well.
