“We’ll come up with something on the contract situation in the next week or two.”
A three year contract for the player has been mooted which would surely see the player spending the rest of his career at the club. Carra’s current contract runs out at the end of the season.

it appears that the heart is ruling the head here. He should be given a two year deal max – renegotiate at a later date if performances hold up and exceed expectations, instead of just committing massive wages to an ageing player beyond the point at which he can realistically still expect him to be a top performer

jamie knocks souness as a manager but thinking of souness puts the loss of a very inferior mascherano in perspective.
