The Daily Express are reporting that Liverpool are targeting Birmingham City centre back Scott Dann in the January transfer window. The Liverpool born defender has impressed since arriving from Coventry City last July for £3.5million and has struck up an impressive defensive partnership alongside Roger Johnson. Roy Hodgson is apparently interested in strengthening his defence, according to the paper, but he will have to fight off competition from many other Premier League clubs, including Manchester United who are said to be monitoring Dann’s progress. Birmingham manager Alex McLeish would be looking for at least double what he paid for the player over a year ago.
