TOP TEN Most Promising Liverpool Youngsters

|

With some of Liverpool’s youngsters not covering themselves in glory against Northampton Town, there maybe something to be said that our young players are not what they cracked up to be at the moment. However I feel these ten youngsters really do have a promising future at Liverpool Football Club if they continue to improve.

1. Dani Pacheco

The Spanish forward had an excellent summer with Spain at the European U19 Championships, and really impressed as he helped them to the final. Given the number 12 shirt by Roy Hodgson this season, he has been promised greater first team opportunities, and came off the bench to good effect away to Trabzonspor in the Europa League last month.

2. Martin Kelly

Already far more prominent in first team affairs this season, Roy Hodgson has picked Kelly to start in both the Europa League and Carling Cup already this season. Mostly likely will evolve to play at centre-back, Hodgson has opted to play Kelly either as right back or left back so far this campaign and will almost certainly be the back up to Glen Johnson at full back this season.

3. Daniel Ayala

Alongside Kelly, the Spanish defender is seen by many at the club as the most promising young centre-back. With Liverpool already having four players in his position, the best option for Daniel was to be loaned out where he could get more first team football. He has impressed so far on his loan spell at Hull City, keeping two clean sheets in his first 3 starts and scoring a goal against Derby on his home debut.

4. Suso

This young Spanish whizkid from Cadiz is already exciting many former players and reserve management staff alike. Reserve coach John McMahon has already praised the 16 year old midfielder’s start to his time at Liverpool, while the player has already been asked about by former Red Peter Beardsley when the Reds reserves met Newcastle United earlier this month.

5. David Amoo

An unused substitute for the Carling Cup tie against Northampton Town, the pacey winger has had a lightning start to the season at reserve level with three goals in his first three matches. His ability to stretch and trouble opposition defences was never in question but it now looks as if he has found a cutting edge allowing him to either provide dangerous crosses or score important goals.

Don’t forget David Ngoo. I reckon he has a good chance.

  • Paul says:

I am so sceptical when I see articles like this. How many players have come through our ranks in the last decade dubbed “the next….?”

I do like Dani Pacheco, but having an article about our top 10 prospects reeks of optimism. I can’t see more than 1 or 2 of them playing in any top league in Europe (when they are of age, not now.) Wasn’t Nemeth the next big thing? He never even got a game ahead of N’gog. Doesn’t say much.

Anyways, I hope I am proved wrong, so keep on truckin’ I guess.

Forwards -Ngoo has the best chance apart from Suso who is easily the best. Defenders -Wisdom

a great lot of mixed aged youngsters, quality in quantity, there is no comparison with the past, rafa can take most of the credit although he had to go

  • akshay says:

for me ayala will easily be the replacement of carragher in 1-2 seasons. kelly will be used as an utility player covering the back 4 like o’shea and replacing krygiakos. pacheco will be a regular in 6-12 months time and robinson will be our regular left defender. toni silva and suso will be our wingers switching places often. shelvey will be our master midfielder. sterling will be our superstar rooney or henry. wisdom has no future and ngoo will be our second striker. the team will be GK – robinson-ayala-wilson-kelly-shelvey-cm-suso-silva-pacheco-sterling. ngoo to make the bench. lets get canales to compliment shelvey…

you would have thought players on the verge of the first team could have seen off northampton!

  • Bheko says:

@ akshay, are you mad or something mate? wisdom no future? and Canales for Lfc? the boy’s just been signed by Real Madrid for f*** sakes and when have they released a young-ish player after just 1 season, use your common sense you mong. anyhoo back to sanity/reality, i like the look of Suso, Amoo, Ince, Ngoo, Palson, WISDOM, Wilson, Robinson, Irwin, and last but not least DANIEL PACHECO (with Daniel Ayala coming next season hopefully!) who I think should be getting a lot more games than he is now but then again I’m not the manager and don’t see them training day-in-day-out to decide who plays or not.

P.S. Roy Hodgson is not good enough to manage LFC as much as I like and respect the man, I honestly think he’s out of his depth with this side it’s just a shame Rafa couldn’t put into action what he started i.e. the youth system at LFC that he personally revamped!!!

  • Mike says:

Number 10: It’s Jack Robinson, not Jake. Ffs. Simple stuff this.

  • Rafa says:

    how about Danny Wilson?

  • Todd says:

@Rafa: Danny Wilson can bend over and let Rafa penetrate him.

  • Eric says:

we’ve all seen what happened to the likes of dalla valle (dubbed the new torres), nemeth and plessis so i can only see 2 or 3 making it to be honest. and what happened to danny wilson, mavinga and palsson?

  • paul says:

your number one, Pacheco, will never make it at Liverpool, he’s too small, a small player will only make it with exceptional talent, and he’ll be at malaga or zaragosa within 12 months

  • stavros says:

The best Liverpool youngster is Raheem Sterling..he is 15 years old and already has great pace and skills.

  • Ronnie says:

All thr BS that comes from the comments here is absolutely ridiculous! Because Liverpool havent brought up any youngster in 15 years or so, doesnt mean the current youngsters are going to be bad.
The reason is simple. The plan of spending loads because City and Chelsea are spending is what hampers the youngster’s careers at Anfield. It is the narrow-minded ideas of our past 3-4managers that has created this, most notably Benitez. Why we try to outspend others or even think the only way to stay in top 4 is to spend money is just crazy. We should be smart and buy 1 good player and give younger guys a chance as it is for the good of the long-term health of LFC.
