Rijkaard ‘wants to continue career in England’

|

According to Skysports.com, Dutch coach Frank Rijkaard wants to continue his managerial career in the Premier League. He has reportedly asked his representatives to send out feelers to see if there is a possibility of a job in England. Rijkaard left Galatasaray on Tuesday after a year and a half at the Turkish club, and there is great demand around Europe for his services. He had been linked with a move back to Holland with Ajax but the website believes that Rijkaard has made it clear to his advisors that he will snub offers from other European clubs to move to England. The continuing troubles at Liverpool has linked Rijkaard heavily with the managerial role at Anfield, adding to pressure on current boss Roy Hodgson.

  • R.Hodgson says:

I don’t want Rijkaard to be LFC manager- he plays attacking football. I think ‘hoof it up the field’ football is the way forward. I can’t see what everyone is complaining about. Ok, so we’ve been unlucky with results but everyone can see that we outplayed Everton. Liverpool fans just have unrealistic expectations. I, for one, didn’t think we’d beat Birmingham away, and Northampton and Blackpool at home were always going to be difficult fixtures. If Manchester United want to come and take our star striker in January, well so be it.
