Would you trust this man with £40million?

|

Liverpool had the chance to make a statement about the manager’s future last week but they did not, now the new owners have to call it a loss and say goodbye to Roy Hodgson. Yes, it was a difficult game against Everton; however, we shouldn’t be in this position. Hodgson’s way of playing has become somewhat predictable and for a top class manager he should be able to make better choices and be more proactive when necessary.

He constantly gets caught out of the game and tends to wonder off until the opposition makes the first change. Once again we have clearly been out played, yet Maxi Rodriguez was kept on the field with little or no impact on the game what so ever, Lucas Leiva was not needed on the field at the same time as Raul Meireles and Fernando Torres obviously needed some support up front. Therefore, even though our bench is not the quality we would want to see, he should have made changes from half time or minutes after, not wait until the end of the match. Clearly Hodgson didn’t know he was in a derby game .He demonstrated little awareness of what should be done and that is not what we need at this moment.

Blackpool’s Manager Ian Holloway spoke of one of his key strategies in motivating his Blackpool squad, in that he used the Bill Shankly’s approach in getting his team to believe in their abilities and their passion and desire to achieve, and clearly it is working. What then is the reason why Hodgson fails time after time to motivate this Liverpool squad, which in my opinion is leaps and bounds better than a Blackpool’s squad? As mentioned before the problem sadly lies with Hodgson, his failure to follow the game throughout cost us dearly, he allowed David Moyes to pull all the strings with great success.

Come January transfer window, Hodgson will probably be given £40million or so to spend on new players. Now is that a wise move,to allow Hodgson with that much cash or should it be in the hands of a more high calibre manager who has the experience of managing big clubs with more ,i.e. Guus Hiddink,Frank Rijkaard?

I have been a Liverpool F.C supporter since the mid 80's, I fell in love with this club when I saw the likes of Ian Rush and John Barnes play. I hold a Law degree from the University of London ,and a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of the West Indies.

Roy has got to go , lets hope Henry is reading websites like this as well as listening to the fans . make the change now and the new manager will have in place his views for the January transfer window . Hodgson is small club minded . he thinks we’re fulham or Blackburn … well were not we are the most successful club in Britain and we should be thinking like that .. he should have come out after the everton game and said simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!!!!

The quickest way for NESV to get the fans onside??

    SACK WOY WOY!!!

Like other Liver fans, I’ve never called for a managers head, or even written on these bloomin boards – but dear god this is almost on par with H&G — ok exaggerating but before long it will be!!!

Picture on the article says it all – a wet so-and-so.

  • Roy says:

NOT A PENNY. Roy ‘give me 10 games’ Hodgson, must know the writings on the wall if the first 8 are anything to go by, watched him on sunday, woeful. Big club big manager, Sorry Roy, should have stayed at Fulham…oh they’re doing alright without you..sorry.

  • Tom says:

Everyone seems to have got the idea that Roy will choose which players to buy, I suspect the American way may be different.

    • Zahid says:

Well said the jocks are probably the best british managers and probably pundits. Shankley, Sir Alex, Moyes and now Mcleash and Hanson and Andy Gray even tho i hate him. I think Souness was shit tho……YNWA

  • not roy says:

save our club! sack roy now!

  • Kris says:

For that type of money I can see Roy going and buying the whole fulham squad !! He is not a ‘quality’ manager he has never achieved sucess at any club… Is failing to win the Europa league with fulham really success ? No
Bad choice by the board, wrong man.. If he stays at the club any longer it will only get worse, clearly he cannot motivate players as he is not strong willed enough to enforce any action upon them! The sooner he’s gone the better!

After benitez’s milk rant on purslow, now it becomes obvious that its purslow who had the effect of liverpool’s drop from second to seventh. It appears that benitez is saying that purslow undid much of what he had done. I’ve been thinking that benitez had become crap but no, he is still winning it with Inter. Seems that Benitez was the man to take pool to the title. Shame now we have dropped a tactical genius to a woy. I think that but from a rapid move for a new manager, we are for the drop.

It’s a real shame because I’ve always been a fan of Roys and really wanted him to be a success but I think the tide is definately turning. I think that there really is something going on behind the scenes and if we don’t win against Blackburn he’ll get the sack…..and lets be honest, could he really complain with 1 league win in 9 with us?!

  • mavrick says:

    i wouldn’t trust roy with 40p

  • Zahid says:

APPARANTLY ITS 30 MILLION NOT 40, WITH 70 MILL + IN THE SUMMER……

  • Skiller says:

I’m not saying he doesn’t have the know how, but I do think it’s his age that has something to do with him not taking risk. Way!! to defensive even when your down 2-0, makes no sense to me. You get no points for a 1-0 lost, or 10-0 lost. Attack!!!Attack!!!Attack!! You can’t do that with two holding midfields! It’s not rocket science. A substitute needs 25 to 30 minutes to be effective.

  • Jay Wright says:

the January transfer window is crap – $30m would almost certainly be wasted on second choice players. We’re better off waiting until the summer when all the top players will become available again, rather than spending good money on players that will barely be any better than what we’ve got (and are misusing) already

  • Ken says:

Stop saying Roy is a nice guy. He is paid well to do his job. Only Liverpool would be so stupid to pay 3 mil a year for Roy to wreak havoc at the club. And does his comments sound nice to you. Egoecentric, sycophantic prick.

  • kwong says:

With that kind of money, Hogdson would most likely bring in his trusted soldiers,i.e. Hangeland (10mil)to shore up the leaking defence, ever reliable Murphy (4mil) to play the holding role in midfield, skilful Dempsey (8mil) in the mole, pacey Duff (5mil) to partner Konchesky on the left and of course targetman Zamora (13mil) to replace out of form Torres. Money well spend and at the same time resolve whatever problems he has with the Fullham Chairman. End result, Liverpool could have more home grown British boys in the team. Hodgson dream team – Jones,Johnson,Carra,Hangeland,Konchesky,Cole,Gerard,Murphy,Duff,Demsey and Zamora. Subs-Reina,Torres,Kuyt,Poulsen,Meireles,Skrtel. Thumbs up for Hodgson the Saviour and could not wait for January to come!

  • LFCDIEARD says:

    Absolutelyyyyyyyyyy NOT!!!
Rafa would be soo happy he’ll be on spending spree on players like nunez, josemi or whatever and hodgson can’t know what he gonna do but sure waste it all on over-rated old players that’s got only few years left to play at top level, the likes of konchesky etc… actually bobby zamora is a decent finisher better than c.cole!!! the midfield is the problem sort it out quickly and the team might perform and jovanovic should get more attacking role that’s what he does for his country, did great job against germany and give maxi a break lacks quality!!! And dammit use agger at the back the greek guy is slow carra is going crazy???!!!

  • Yunus says:

I agree, new ownners must replace RH ASAP , I believe the current Dutch Internatinal coach Bert should replace him , he is doing wonders for the Dutch team , took them to the World Cup final and playing well in the Euro 2012 qualifiers
