With on the lookout for a quality striker in the January transfer window, they could do a lot worse than looking to sign ’s want-away striker, .

The Paraquayan forward, now aged 29, has rarely featured for multi-million Man City since he signed from .In fact, he has only scored 3 times in 20 appearances for the Sky blues. Santa Cruz, however, has been much more prolific throughout his career scoring 23 in 57 starts for Blackburn and 23 in 78 for his national team.

With offering £4 million for the striker to return to Blackburn, should Roy Hodgson have a punt and make a bid for a player who would compliment upfront?

At a reported £4 million, I would certainly sign him up for Liverpool.

At 4 mil, even 6 mil, I’d definitely sign him. He might be 29 but this guy’s a quality goalscorer and has proved himself in the prem. I think I would die with laughter if Hodgson decides to get Cole for 10 mil instead of Santa Cruz for 4-6 mil.

Decent player, but I think its fair to say his best days are behind him and you can be sure that City are paying him around 80K week.

On that basis, I think its a non-starter

agree with eric, santa cruz would also be a better option than that bolton superstar, what’s-his-name, oh yeah elmander!
but, like i said before, it would go against our new owners’ plilosophy of buying young players.

Santa Claus would be a better signing than Santa Cruz. Sell has-been Torres in January to City. Buy Andy Carroll, Nzogbia and Gary Cahill. Liverpool are not going to make the top four anyway so it is time the club made changes.
