It really is hard to believe

It’s hard to believe that Liverpool are only nine points behind Roman’s Chelsea and that lot from down the East Lancs Road.  Hard to believe? Well yes, considering our season so far.  We have only won five matches, two fewer victories than Old whiskey nose’s charge’s, and if you believe all you read and hear, they are true challengers for the title.

I would imagine that like most die hard fans I would bite someone’s hand off if you offered us fourth place now.  That would be a major achievement considering the months that have gone before us.  I am convinced that despite the boss’s belief that most wrote the Reds’ season off too early, the majority of fans are still not convinced that Mr Hodgson is the man best suited to elevating our club to the top.  Which top?  The very top!

This year’s Premier League has shown yet again, that there are no easy games, that any team can triumph on any given day.  Yes, the league is open, wide open.  When we finished second a couple of years ago, it was exactly the same, the league was there for the taking.  Chelsea, who many have championed as winners elect, have lost three out of their last four league games, leaving them on top, by virtue of goal difference.  With less than half the league campaign gone, all is still to play for.

If we hadn’t been so pathetic against Sunderland, Blackpool, Wigan and Stoke we would be top of the table now with Chelsea and Utd. This league is there to be won-the standard is terrible-even with this squad we could win it if we put Johnson on the rightwing and put Kuyt up front with Torres and push high up the pitch and play an offside trap.

  • How things might have been if we didn’t have Woy in charge…. This is what needs to change, I am tired of hearing some of the naff players he is linked to. Davies, Capdevlia (32 no prem experience)we’ll have no chance of attracting players like Hazard or Benzema with mid table Woy … Give us a wave Woy and turn the lights off on your way out !
