Aldo: “I wouldn’t want Kenny to become manager again”

|

Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge has stated that he doesn’t want Kenny Dalglish to become manager of Liverpool again although he wants the Anfield legend to have a “greater role” than his current ambassadorial position. Writing in his column for the Liverpool Echo, he said:

“I hope they give Kenny Dalglish a much greater role to make use of his vast experience.I wouldn’t want Kenny to become manager again. He’s such a major player in Liverpool’s history and I wouldn’t want to see his standing damaged if things didn’t work out. Kenny should have a pivotal position overseeing what goes on at the club for the next 10 years. He needs to be a lot more than an ambassador. He should be overseeing what the chief executive does and having a say in football decisions. The list of bad players who have come to the club over the past decade is endless and the fans are sick and tired of it. Kenny should be part of the process to ensure the players who come in are worthy of wearing the shirt.”

Aldridge said of Roy Hodgson:

“As for Roy Hodgson, I’d love to see him still in charge in five years time. If he’s here then it will mean he has been successful. That we’re back playing in the Champions League every year and winning trophies. Managers live or die by results and I want Roy to be successful because I want the club to be successful.”

Aldo give it a rest. If Hodgson’s in charge for the next 5 months, never mind 5 years, we’ll be in deep trouble. You’re just a fan now, so get in line mate; we want Kenny back to stop Hodgson doing any more damage – like signing Carlton Cole!

    Carlton Who…

Jack I think you are misunderstanding. I think what aldo means is that he would like to see roy here in 5 years BECAUSE that means he has been successful. If he aint a success he won’t be here. I also feel comfortable with Roy staying, but ONLY, if he improves massivly

  • King Kenny says:

NESV are a disgrace. They are pathetic owners of this worldfamous club. Man City are today in talks with Edin Dzeko while Liverpool are linked with a 9 million pound move for Carlton Cole (scraping the bottom of the barrel). Liverpool fans who are serious about this club need to immediately start a campaign demanding NESV carry out no rubbish signings, with the same ferocity as the campaign that was waged against Hicks and Gillette.

I think Jack B understands completely Aldo’s wish. Unfortunately Aldo is naive if he thinks Hodgson can bring success to Anfield. We need Hodgson out now, not after he’s left huge damage behind. He is not a Liverpool man, and never will be.

I think anyone would be happy keeping any manager that is successful at the club regardless of their credentials, unfortunately we sacked a world class manager for a really poor one, don’t know why people get angry when Liverpool make bad appointments such as Roy Hodgson, he had no credentials, so why would u think he would come in a win things with Liverpool, we signed Benitez because he won the la liga title twice in 3 years and the uefa cup, we signed Hodgson cos he got lucky to a uefa cup final and got whacked. I’m just watching this drab wolves game and I thought for a minute we were playing away cos it’s that bad, no wonder I give my ticket up for many games nowadays,
And forget about kenny, he’s not the answer either, he shud of came in temporary whilst we got a proper manager with the club so eager to get rid of benitez, looks like it’s gonna be an expensive January (compensation for Roy)

NESV we must get rid of hodgson, ok its up to the players but its the negative style of play thats the problem, torres is a disgrace and is obviously ready to join alonso, demand £50 million or sell him to city, HODGSON GO GO GO NOW.the fans and the need the lift of a new manager.

  • stan howard says:

ps and take konhesky (he diddnt deserve the send off he got tonight)and poulson with you.

  • Dee says:

Yeah, share d same opinion about kenny dalglish but roy 5 years?
Liverpool lost to wolves first time in 26 years at ANFIELD and also BLACKPOOL first time in God knows how many years. All roy could mumble after the match is ” Lack of quality”
Yes liverpool might lack depth/quality but not as bad as sitting in bottom part of the table. Does it really mean all the teams ahead of Liverpool on the league table has better quality?
Pls like ‘aldo’ let’s give roy 5 years to build his ”dream team” for lfc. We already have poulsen and konchesky so who’s next…… Chalton cole I guess
