JWH: It doesn’t take a lot of time for the club to go downhill

|

Liverpool co-owner John W Henry has attacked the club’s previous owners for the “short-term” decision making that has damaged the club over the last two years:

“There’s no doubt about it that this season and the second half of last season was unacceptable for Liverpool, and we are in sync with the fans for what it’s going to take going forward. It doesn’t take a lot of time for the club to go downhill but it takes time to rebuild, and over the last two years there have been some short-term decisions which have really hurt the club. It’s up to us to turn the tide, but we are in it for the long term. We see this as an opportunity to return the club to where it was 20 years ago. Where we are at this point is not acceptable, but when I say rebuilding I mean building for the top of the table. That’s going to be really difficult to do this year and a real challenge next year as well.”

Henry also stated on Liverpool’s January plans:

“We are actively looking at it. We don’t quite know what the position is going to be in January. This is our first transfer window. It is something we have been studying day and night. We are trying to understand it.”

This week it is former Liverpool player Danny Murphy’s wife Joanna Taylor!

Idiotic clubs like Newcastle sack their managers too quickly, we are as ridiculous but in the other extreme, we dont sack them fast enough, we give them too long and allow them to waste millions more, SACK HODGSON NOW!!!!!!!!

  • Sib says:

Agreed. He is taking us backwards in every respect. Don’t agree with quick sackings, but in this case, Do it!

Short-termism is sticking with a manager that clearly is incapable of delivering success on the big stage, because it might destabilise the club right now.

The long term view would be to write this season off, and take whatever lumps are necessary in giving a long term appointment the next 6 months to evaluate the club and see exactyly what is needed to move us forwards.

Hodgson is 63 years old – he’s not a young manager learning his trade that is suddenly going to blossom into the type of manager that we want.
He’s not a proven winner, or proven at developing young players or an enterprising brand of football – all that he can deliver is not enough for us, so why on Earth are we wasting time dilly dallying with the guy; especially while Riijkaard remains ready, willing and avaailable!

henry do u copy? fire roy now.sometimes i think u dont listen to us the fans.the previous regime made the mistake of trusting rafa with a thing called time.he killed the club softly, sold and frustrated its valuable asserts like owen, xabi, danny murphy, warnock.just fire roy now

  • magnumopus says:

Stop with the burning of Rafa in effigy will ya mate! That being said, many agree we do not think Roy is the man for such an important job as moving Liverpool forward requires. When will John Henry decide the same is the 94 million pound question of the day!
