TOP TEN Liverpool Midfielders of the Decade

|

Liverpool have had some great midfielders over the last ten years. Looking down at the list I’ve drawn up though, there is a worrying lack of wingers; something I really hope the Reds address in the next decade. There are probably no guesses needed for who is number one, but there maybe a couple of surprise names on the list. Some of them made massive contributions over a great deal of years at the club while others had fleeting visits to Anfield but have still made a good deal of impact in their limited stay on Merseyside. The Reds were renowned for having some battling midfielders inthe last ten years rather than players with genuine flair but they can make just as much impact. One such midfielder, Didi Hamann, probably made the most important impact in the last ten years, coming on at half time in the 2005 Champions League Final. If you have any more suggestions, feel free to mention them below in the comments section.

Gerrards got to be the best, obviously. Then Xabi, then Didi Hamman, then Mascherano. No other Liverpool midfielder of the last decade has been any good. In fact they are/was all rubbish.

Luis Garcia got us to the Champions League final single handedly, but that’s all he did.

Apart from the above, the rest have been inconsistant rubbish, with each of them showing real quality once every blue moon.
