TWO Players who will hopefully show Roy what they’re made of

|

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson stated today that he has confidence in the young players that will play against Steaua Bucharest in the Europa League on Thursday night:

“I have faith in the young players and whatever happens on Thursday night I won’t lose faith in them. But it’s an opportunity for them to force their way into my attention even more.”

Perhaps he has learned his lesson after calling the team that were defeated in the Carling Cup, the ‘B’ team. Certainly at the time he felt he was defending his own position offering reasons why the Reds were so acrimoniously dumped out of the League Cup by a League Two team, but in the process he no doubt alienated half his squad and showed a lack of faith in his young players. Although he did take responsibility for that defeat back in September by saying he selected the team, he deflected some of the criticism by stating that the players who played came up short in his expectations.

Two players who played that night were Danny Wilson and Dani Pacheco. Neither player covered themselves in glory that night as the young Scot Wilson played in an unfamiliar position at left back while Pacheco was played out of position on the right hand side. Hodgson has subsequently stated that Pacheco’s lack of performance in that match had limited his first team opportunities subsequently and that it is only now, along with Wilson, that he feels both should be included in the Europa League squad again.

I think some of the younger guys can step up to the first team Wilson Pacheco & Babel. It depends which Babel turns up the pacey player who goes past opposition & hit rocket shots or the donkey who couldnt go past my gran (shes been dead for years) and couldnt hit a cow on the arse with a banjo!

    my line-up :-

    ——–Pepe Reina——-
    Kelly–Soto–Danny–Aurelio
    —–Poulsen–Jonjo——
    Babel————–Joe Cole
    —-Pacheco—Jovanovic—

4-4-2 Formation. I hope Roy will use this formation..

Need a fast winger for counter-attack and that’s what Babel for.

Jovanovic upfront. With his physical advantage, I think he can put pressure to the defender..

Pacheco got creative move and clean pass. He’s small but I think he need to look at Messi & learn from him.
