Holloway laughs off £3.5m valuation

|

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has told Sky Sports that it will take more than £3.5million to prise Charlie Adam away from the Seasiders. Liverpool, along with a host of other clubs have been linked with the midfielder in recent days but Holloway has stated he won’t let him go unless a really big club comes in for the player:

“I think he enjoys his football, I think he’s very flattered that other people want him and I’ve told him how good he is and who he should go to. Until those people come in, great clubs with great situations at the moment, then I don’t think he should go anywhere at the moment because we’re a good team, the crowd loves him, the players love him and he’s part of a very successful team at the moment. Hopefully he’ll agree with me and we’ll have a look at it in the summer, because in the summer it’s a totally different kettle of fish.”

Holloway believes that Adam is worth a lot more than £3.5m:

“He’s got a year left on his contract, the swing will go to him and maybe to his agent. But I think he can help us stay in this division. We’re a well run club and we don’t need any awkward phone calls. If people think they’re going to get Charlie Adam for £3.5million, I’m ever so sorry.”
