Konchesky: “It is so small up here – so there’s no hiding”

|

Liverpool full back Paul Konchesky has admitted he hasn’t performed in his first six months at the club. He has also stated that the pressure of playing for Liverpool is very different to any London club:

“The fans have not seen the best of me yet, Hopefully, I can kick on in the new year. Liverpool are a big club with a great history. We must try to get the club back to where it belongs. It is so small up here. There are two teams and most of the people support Liverpool – so there’s no hiding. In London, though, you have four or five good teams. You can go out there and not even think about it.”

Liverpool face Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night at Ewood Park.

We don’t need you to say that you haven’t performed in your first 6 months here, we all know that. Saying your performances have been poor would be a compliment. I hope whenever you play you up your game and realise you’re playing for Liverpool not Fulham. It’s nice to know that you know you haven’t been good enough but it’s even nicer to know that Hodgson has finally realised that Aurelio is a better left back to you.

  • Terry Gouldson says:

Konchesky is way out of his depth and an appalling signing along with Poulsen. The sooner Woy leaves along with these 2 muppets , also take Skertel, Kyriagos, Ngog, Babel, To name 4 others. Babel has been a disgrace and should have gone years ago . A new progressive manager is what LFC need , with high expectations and the backing of the new owners. Cole has been poor , and Torres looks as though he wished he was elsewhere. Time for some big changes , Carraghers been a wonderful servant but his time has come and gone, a coaching role would harness his knowledge and great passion.

at least you have noticed most people support liverpool you gonk just like roy no idea of what its all about

  • daboy says:

I suggest he buys a wig he will be less recognizable!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Jay Wright says:

All that he has to do is walk around with Skrtel, Shelvey, Spearing & Meireles and he’ll blend right in!

  • stan h says:

he did not deserve being cheered off the field but it was payback for his mums snide remarks, i’m sure if he stays it wont hppen again.
hodgson is the most horrible person ever to be associated with our club, he disrespects the fans and we are the club. he thinks the owners or even the players are the only ones he has to be concerned with, sucking up to ferguson again was another open insult to us. what was he supposed to do – not look so happy about it – we never see the horrible git smile.

    • turks says:

He should’ve come out with a public apology and his foul mother with it!

      • Jay Wright says:

He should’ve apologised for what?? Football fans need to stop being so bloddy sensitive all the time; you can dish out abuse constantly, but as soon as somebody retaliates – no matter how minor the retaliation – then all of a sudden apologies are in order. Man up ffs!

  • Big Al says:

NO place to hide? He’s been pretty anonymous on the pitch,no one would recognise him as Liverpool player.Roy HAS to take the blame for this one

  • Kenny says:

It is amazing that Torres suddenly started to run around again with the transfer window opening. Eljero Elia is the wrong signing for Liverpool, it should be Nzogbia that Liverpool go for.

    • turks says:

Some idiotic post from you, Torres played better as we played the ball on the deck, Elia is a far superior player to Nzogbia, stop believing all you read in the rags!

  • Andy says:

N’zogbia is way too inconsistant and thiks way too much of himself as it was proven in the summer. He agreed all terms with Birmingham and headed to the meeting with Mcleish to sign, but then as he sat there he demanded more money!. Doesnt deserve to be at a team like Liverpool and would end up like Diouf. Elia is the much better player and he has proven it. It’s not Konchesky’s performances that are bad, it’s actually HIM that is bad fullstop!!. He isnt good enough and should never of been signed for us.

Please all Liverpool fans sign this petition to help get rid of the joker that is Roy Hodgson. It was only put up after the WOlves game and already has 17,904 signatures but we need more!!

  • Kenny says:

Elia would be a huge flop, Nzogbia has shown his undoubted ability in the Premier League and would cost less. The club does not need another substandard Dutch player.

  • dave says:

Not a fan of Konchesky, but the title of the article suggests that Konchesky is quoted as saying “It is so small up here”, but this is not mentioned in the rest of the article. Indeed, the article leads me to believe that this has actually been paraphrased?
