David Maddock in the Daily Mirror believes that Ajax striker Luis Suarez, Aston Villa winger Ashley Young and Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra are Liverpool’s three main targets during the January transfer window. While Ajax are demanding £28m for Suarez, the Reds are only willing to pay just over half that, Villa are demanding the same amount they paid for Darren Bent for Young but the Reds will not go anywhere near that sum. In addition, Liverpool are looking at Diarra but Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho will only let him go before the end of the season if they receive an outstanding offer for the French international.
