A FIVE Star Winger Leaving Us All Excited, And TWO Forgotten Men Who Deserve A Second Chance: This Week on Live4Liverpool.com

|

A week of two disappointing draws has seen the shine taken off, ever so slightly, from Kenny Dalglish’s start as Liverpool manager. Nevertheless with the absence of Steven Gerrard and Daniel Agger, as well as the illness to Raul Meireles in the match against Wigan, it was always going to be difficult to look convincing in both matches, but the stalemates against the Latics and Sparta Prague highlight the lack of strength in depth currently in the squad. With the absence of key players, including Luis Suarez against Sparta on Thursday night, the team looked bereft of a cutting edge or any real ideas. On the positive side though, Luis Suarez’s performance against Wigan was great to see and he was unlucky not to score after hitting the post and bar. Another great positive was the performance of Raheem Sterling in the FA Youth Cup on Monday night where he scored five goals (Read my article entitled “Five Star Raheem). The blogs this week have reflected the hopes of supporters in the months and years ahead, as the 9-0 victory in the FA Youth Cup for our Under 18s has left many people excited. Chris Severs looks back to see who should be given credit for the improvement in our youth ranks in his article, “A Legacy which will live on long after his time at the club,” while Mark Wilson talks about two players he feels deserve a second opportunity under King Kenny in,”Why I’m hoping these TWO forgotten men are given a chance.” Many thanks to David Tyrer, Mark Wilson, Elliott Tunstall, Chris Severs and John Toher for writing for the site this week.
