Three at the back Again, Bet on the Reds to win 1-0 at 14/1

|

It was always going to happen wasn’t it. Fernando Torres’s first appearance in the Blue of Chelsea will come against his old club Liverpool today (team sheet below). There will probably be a lot of hostility (and deservedly so) from Liverpool’s away support and it will be interesting to see how Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger deal with the striker. The Slovakian has vowed not to let the Spanish striker score, but as Reds fans know all too well, the 26 year old is hard to stop when he is in full flow.

Bet on Fernando Torres to score but for Liverpool to win 2-1 at 50/1 with Bet 365.

Let’s hope our knew £23million signing Luis Suarez can outshine the Spaniard at Stamford Bridge today if he comes on. The Uruguayan had a lively debut after coming on against Stoke. He made some good touches to offload the ball to his team mates and also made a lot of threatening forward runs. His cameo display was of course topped by his first goal for the club in front of the Kop on his debut. The goal shouldn’t go down as an own goal in my opinion as the defender didn’t prevent the ball going in after Suarez hit it towards goal.

Bet on Luis Suarez to score at 8/1 with Bet 365

It will be also interesting to see how Liverpool line up with Jamie Carragher returning. Three at the back is the most likely setup and Dirk Kuyt played extremely well up front on his own against Stoke. With all the hype surrounding the game though, I bet it will be a tight affair with a 0-0 draw or a 1-0 result either way to be the final score.

I think this is probably our current best 11 except for the striker and Maxi. Hopefully no silly tackles from our defenders.

We will be hard done to gain any points from this match but I hope that Torres doesn’t score and that we get at least a point! 1-0 to Liverpool would be my miracle for today! YNWA

“Chelsea will have to get Torres into goal-scoring positions more often and ensure he is supplied with plenty of crosses. The player will not go looking for chances; his work rate compared with Kuyt’s is embarrassing and his technical skills average” – taken form the Guardian paper, and its spot on, by David Pleat on the chalk boards…

TORRES WORK RATE AND OVER ALL GAME IS A DISGRACE TO FOOTBALL.
