Dalglish suggests next starlet breakthrough?

|

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has suggested that full back John Flanagan could be the next youngster to breakthrough into the Liverpool first team. When speaking about the performance of Jay Spearing versus Sunderland he said:

“He’s not 6ft 2 but he’s still a decent footballer and he did very well today. If you add to that Martin Kelly who has come through the club as well and a young boy we brought through today in John Flanagan – he’s close to getting involved – then we aren’t too bad.”

Dalglish felt Spearing’s performance in the 2-0 victory yesterday was worthy of praise:

“The wee man did really well the third game in against Everton. He never knew he had a stress fracture and he played. We had to give it time to heal or we’d have lost him for the whole season. I think we made the right decision because he played really well. He’s spirited, he can see a pass and intercept too.”

So Spearing is already a better defensive CM and preferred to Poulsen.
Gulacsi is no 2 keeper ahead of Brad Jones.
I have no doubt that Jack Robinson and Insua are better left backs than Konchesky.

And Hodgson thinks he was harshly treated by our fans and club!

Maybe instead he should ask himself why he wasted almost £10m and £160k per week in salaries on Konch, Poulsen and Jones, when we have better youngsters already at the club!

Hodgson, is a good manager for teams in the area where he is now, he is a relegation manager. He will never be able to manage a top team as he really doesn’t know how. He will get a goal and defend forever. And yes what a load of money wasted…

jheeze, if this is the level of player that Liverpool are focusing on bringing through, while the likes of Pacheco, Suso, Coady et al continue in the reserves, then I’ll just dampen my enthusiasm for next season from now!
