“I do want to play in a better league”

|

FC Copenhagen left back Oscar Wendt has expressed his desire to leave Denmark to play in a bigger league. The Swedish international has been linked with Liverpool but when asked recently about links with a move to French club Marseille, he said:

“I have read that Marseille are interested in me, but no-one has made direct contact as yet. If they did get in touch, of course I would listen carefully to what they have to say. I will only make a decision on my future, though, once we have been eliminated from the Champions League. I do want to play in a better league than the one in Denmark. I have been here five years and had an amazing time, but now I want to experience a new challenge at a bigger club in a better league. Ligue 1 is definitely a possibility.”

With Copenhagen 2-0 down after the first leg against Chelsea, it looks as if Wendt will be deciding his future shortly.

  • Kenny says:

Bosman signings are always failures. Rotate Mavinga and Wilson at leftback for next season. Promote Robinson to play in the mickeymouse cups. The club should be signing leftwingers and not more rubbish leftbacks.
