Smith: “A long way to go” for Suarez and Carroll

|

Liverpool legend Tommy Smith is encouraged by the first signs of the partnership between Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez but feels there is still some way to go for the pair. Writing in his column for the Liverpool Echo, he said:

“As a pairing, there’s still a long way to go. Carroll was often facing his own goal, not Sunderland’s. If we’re to get the best out of him that must change.”

Smith believes a couple of additions to the squad are necessary:

“We need two fast, direct wingers who can get to the by line and put crosses in for Carroll to attack. If we can sign these players he’ll get more than his fair share of goals, while Suarez will undoubtedly be able to feed off the afters. But I am looking forward to seeing them develop as a pair.”

This week it is former LFC WAG Edita Hortova!
