TEN Performances of Footballing Heroism

|

You may be tempted to think of the modern day footballer as a protected species. When you see a number of the Premier League’s big name stars rolling around on the floor after a collision, it becomes hard to imagine that those same players are capable of extraordinary feats of bravery to secure success for their club and country.

Here is a countdown of ten players who in any normal circumstances might have asked to be substituted as a result of their injuries, but stayed on to fight for the cause. Some were ultimately successful, some not so, however all ten can be said to have put in remarkable performances despite their injury problems and setbacks.

Of course there are more than just these ten deserving of recognition. If you think I may have missed a few out, let me know about it.

Are you having a laugh? This is a Liverpool website yet you didnt include our own Gerry Byrne who played on with a broken collar bone, he felt his bone grinding together during the game. You call yourself LFC fans. Get a grip and do some research.
