Mourinho to Liverpool? No Thanks!

|

So, the “Special One” does it again. He has only gone and won the Copa Del Rey (King’s Cup) in Spain last night by beating the mighty Barcelona, in extra time 1-0.

Ronaldo headed home the goal for his 42nd of the season late in the game, so another trophy claimed by Mourinho. He has now won silverware for FC Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid amongst others in his remarkable Managerial career. But the point is, how does he win trophies?

He does it by adopting extremely negative tactics that, sadly, do often prevail against even the best teams in the world like Barca. He started without a recognised striker, leaving Adebeyor on the bench and instead set about Barcelona with 10 men committed to tackle and fight for every ball.

It worked, Ronaldo hit them on the break with a header in extra-time, a great header on the counter-attack. But, if this is how you play football then I don’t wanna know. Defend at all costs, negate the opposition and maybe, get a goal on the break. Thats Mourinho’s tactics and always have been.

Some rumours have been flying about that he is interested in returning to the Premier League, that may be so, but I, for one, don’t wanna see him next or near the club. I would much rather see Kenny Dalglish get a long contract with his attacking brand of football. Jose can look elsewhere. What Fenway Sports Group thinks though is still unclear.

I was thinking yesterday how it’s such a shame that Real won. Here we have Real spending 200 mill plus Euro on the best talent in the world and they still have to resort to parking the bus against Barca. All they did was harass and bully the Barca players and it’s just such a shame really. Have never been a fan of Mourinho and I never will. I really hope he doesn’t come back to the PL even with another team. Already had so many years of Chelsea winning with drab unattractive football.

I think I would take winning trophies ahead of style. Ask Man U fans and Arsenal Fans if they would swap teams…..

i prefer winning trophies with negative tactics than playing beautiful football and not win anything though… if kenny stays it would be awesome.. i have high hopes for next season! but if they dont offer him another contract, i would like jose to join. YNWA

Clearly someone has forgotten the match on Sunday against arsenal! Please exPlain what tactics were deployed by Jenny then? If anything most your games against the top 6 playing away result in that method which Mou applied to barca. Futhermore if u watch most matches Mou plays attacking football albeit Barca. You tell me what’s the best method against barca? Your just a hypocrite mate and I suggest you carry out better research next time. Short memory my son when you played the same way just this Sunday. Look forward to your reply!

Nothing wrong with how Madrid played yesterday. Rather than playing negative football, you could say that they used the right tactics. Barca play well when teams set themselves up in a manner that would encourage an open game. Congesting the midfield so as to not give them time and space is probably the best way to beat them. Regarding Mourinho to Liverpool, no thanks. He isn’t a man of class. He makes the odd funny quote but he is a type of personality we should avoid. He is so full of himself. Being conceited is one thing, but Jose takes it to another level. Also, he never accepts his mistakes.

its not aout negative tactics i about playing against a team at a time…he was not going to play attcking football against barca…so did we..remember match against chelsea and arsenal…we did do the same thing..

Dalglish if the right man for Liverpool at the moment and most probably for some time to come. If Liverpool are looking for a master tactician, however, I would bring Rafa back to the club. Rafa has shown on many occasions he can outwit the Special One; has set up teams to play attractive football when he has been able to rely on the right playing staff; and, most importantly, is not only a master tactician but also a great strategist, who has laid the foundations for Liverpool’s future through his restructuring of the youth setup for many years to come.
