Italian Press: Milan emerge as rivals for Reds Midfielder

Italian newspaper Leggo are reporting that AC Milan have entered the running for Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani. Juventus have an option to buy the Italian for £13.5million when his loan finishes at the end of the season, but they are hesitant to pay the full asking price, and Milan could steal a march on their Italian rivals. Milan see Aquilani as an ideal replacement for Andrea Pirlo, who is coincidentally a free transfer target for Juve, and Milan chiefs are ready to open a dialogue with Liverpool over a possible transfer. The Italian club also believe they can rid Aquilani of his injury problems for good with their state of the art sports science research department, the MilanLab.
