Kuyt: “We have more than 11 good players”

|

Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt believes the Reds must recover from their setback against West Brom. He told Liverpoolfc.tv:

“We have to move on from West Brom and there’s another big game coming up on Monday. We have to make sure the three points stay at Anfield. Every game between now and the end of the season is a must-win for us and that’s what we must try to do. We have to make sure we keep going and hopefully we can start a run by Monday.”

Kuyt believes injuries can’t be blamed for the defeat:

“I think since the arrival of Kenny Dalglish we’ve had a pretty good run, but also some very disappointing results against West Brom and West Ham. I don’t like to blame the injuries for why we got beat. We have a great squad, we have more than 11 good players so we should have handled it better, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. I thought we started the game well, and after the injuries with the changes we struggled a little bit. I thought we started well in the second half, we scored a goal, we should have controlled the game by then but obviously that didn’t happen. Always after international games it’s more difficult to play the games that we usually do and, especially after the good result against Sunderland, we wanted to move on and we wanted to get another three points so we were very disappointed with the result.”

Time to wake up Dirk. We do not have anywhere near the depth that is necessary to sustain a season long competition. We have done wonders so far , I grant you, but it is coming to naught at the final hurdle.I do not think that there is much to expect for the remainder and it all hinges on the summer turn-over of players.

11 players Dirk – are you *really* sure about that?
