Rumour Mill: Reds looking at Villa Stopper?

According to the Daily Mirror, both Liverpool and Schalke are interested in signing Aston Villa keeper Brad Friedel. The Reds are said to be interested in re-signing the stopper as a reserve to first choice keeper Pepe Reina. German side Schalke may however have the edge over Liverpool as they can offer the 39 year old a first team role. The German club’s current goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has announced he will be leaving the club in the summer, and it is widely expected that he will leave for rivals Bayern Munich.
