“If we are to lose him, it will be for a figure that satisfies us”

|

Benfica chief Rui Costa has stated that they will only let left back Fabio Coentrao go for the right price. Costa believes the 23 year old has made tremendous strides forwards as a player in recent times:

“He has made great progress: is doing fine and is visible to all the big clubs. If we are to lose him, it will be for a figure that satisfies us.”

Coentrao has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City, but it was reported in Portugal yesterday that Benfica are holding high level talks with Real Madrid over a possible move.

This week it is former LFC WAG Jennifer Ellison!

Would really like to see Liverpool pip them all and get him signed for the summer.

25 millions!? No way, yes we’ll have “some” money to spend but not to throw away, he’s a good player but not a fenom, and with 25 millions (25 millions!) we can buy a leftback like Vargas with 12/13 millions and a young, don’t throw away money just because we have like those losers of real madrid…with 25 millions we can buy Neymar or Thiago Silva or Schweinsteiger…Coentrao’s value for me is 16/17 millions, not more, other teams know we have money now so they shot in the air ridicoulos prizes only because they know that (and they also know that there’re are teams like those losers of real madrid that are always ready to throw away money…examples: Pepe 27 millions, Di Maria 25, Albiol 18, Kaka 65, Benzema 35…)

totally agree i would love to see him in a liverpool shirt but too risk 25 million on him is to big if we really need a left back id raver go for Bains or Enrique a lot cheaper than Coentrao and they have the experience in the premier league

The Portuguese teams always say their players for big money, and I’m sorry but a left back just isn’t worth that kind of money, no matter how good he is. Especially while we don’t have world class players littered throughout the rest of the team.

We made the mistake of spending big on a fullback and going cheap on the winger already – let’s not do it again please…
