Although it hasn’t been a fantastic season by any Liverpool fans’ standards, the last 4 months since the return of King Kenny to the managerial helm has seen a great upturn in performances, and it has shown many of our players in a positive light rather than the poor displays that many put in at the start of the season. Under King Kenny, players seemingly out of form or without confidence, came to the fore and showed their true worth, while youngsters were also afforded opportunities, demonstrating how quickly they had developed over a short period of time. While others have improved a little on this top 5 list, a couple especially have turned opinions right on their heads with the performances they have put in this season. Unfair to put flanagan in there as he’s only played a few games.
I’d say…..
1.Lucas – He’s played virtually every game for us this season and it’s obvious that he’s improved physically and his break-up play has improved big time. Moreover, he no longer passes sideways =D
2.Meireles – He struggled initially but he’s really grown into his role at Liverpool, despite being deployed on the wing in his last few games.
3.Kuyt – He’s been a key figure since Dalglish came in and he’s scored some key goals too.
4.Spearing – This kid works so hard off the ball and he’s been impressive on the ball too.
5.Kelly – he played really well in all his games until he got injured. He was really good against man u and he was fantastic against chelsea. Much better defensively than Johnson. A solid player

Jay spearing-the good midfielder of the year.

1 Kelly – great break through season and really the only bright light in the early part
2 Lucas – break up play much improved and better vision for a pass
3 Kyut – keeps running and some critical goals and really benefiting from positive forward play
4 Spearing – beginning to prove his doubters wrong – also not allowing experienced pros to boss him
5 Meireles – made the transition from the Portuguese league and now bringing style and guile to the team
But do you know what the biggest improvement to the squad is in my view – we know longer look like or our treated as a 2 man team

Some of u guys are still biased toward home grown players. Lucas by far is the most improved player given the flak he received week in week out prior to Dalglish appointment. This kid shows his character & fighting spirits to finally won praises and admiration from the fans. Rafa, Hodgeson and now Dalglish all get to see his quality first hand and all have always said he is a good player and now the fans finally realised. Lucas get my vote for the most improved player award.

Complete disaster giving mediocre players like Spearing and Lucas contract extensions. Shows complete lack of ambition and insight. Neither player will feature in Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Spurs or Man City because they are crap!!!!!!!!!
Of my point of view not only 5 all the players played under Dalglish management have improve simultaneously of Suarez n Carroll arrival + the Academy graduate players whom i always Trust
i believed the top most improved lfc players are SUAREZ-KUYT-LUCAS-MEIRELES-MAXI.and i gave my credit to all the players that contributed so much for resurgence under mr,kenny and CLARK.
lucas- stats show that he has ade the most tackles and he is looking like ho could even start for brazil
spearing-had to come in the big boots of gerrard and has done it superbly. is more defensive than him which allows the rest to push up more.
maxi-his finishing has gotten killer and he is improving a lot more mentally.
kelly- the guy is so reliable and he can attack as well. much better than johnson at defending and if he is guided right will be a solid first teamer in a few years
