£20million on these two stars would be money well spent

|

As for Barcelona’s Bojan, we have been being linked with him since the January transfer window and with his agent touting him around Europe, it may be wise to move fast.  In Bojan, it would be clear to any fan of European football what we’d be getting: a very talented, almost Messi-esque youngster.  Already declared – and recently capped – for Spain the 20 year old is a fine prospect who, like Messi before him, has been playing in Barca’s first team since the age of 16 and has managed over 150 games and 30-odd goals, mostly from the bench it has to be said.  Given his style of play though, he would offer the Reds something we didn’t have until we signed Suarez – a certain unpredictability in front of goal and a different option from the bench.  And if he can bring us something similar to what we’ve had so far from Suarez then I’m all for that.  Like Dann, it is unlikely that we would have to pay over the odds for the youngster, as he has fallen out of favour at Barca over the last 12 months and with Barcelona chasing after a couple more strikers this summer it’s likely that he’ll be actively seeking an exit.

Both these players would be coming in to fill in areas where we really need the cover too and they would add much needed quality cover and beef up the squad a little bit and I couldn’t see the pair costing us more than £20 million between them which would leave plenty over to strengthen elsewhere and, like Henderson, would have all of their best years ahead of them.

I’m sure Comolli and Kenny have other ideas in mind, or at least other options they’d like to consider but while we’re in the market and seem to have plenty of money to throw around it would be a good day for me to see these two young, established players brought to the club.

left back, centre back, left and right wingers, striker. Dann and bojan would be great. How about marc albrighton of villa, for our right wing? He is looking good. Future potential again. Left wing would love to have mata, but realistically even n’zogbia would improve us. Left back would be great to have aly cissoko of lyon!

    • Paul says:

Why is Mata unrealistic, we are Liverpool lets not forget, and i’m not having the whole we’re not in the champions league next season reason, City signed Davd Silva in the same position and they’re ‘just’ City.

  • Kev Crawford says:

Oh yeah and how much did they pay for him and what are his wages? You say they’re ‘just’ City but they have BIG money

  • Voland says:

I don’t see Bojan or Scott Dann coming to Liverpool – I think Comolli and Dalglish are looking at mainly European targets for the centre-back and left-back positions.

    • Voland says:

Submitted before finalising the post: “… and to a strong, athletic forward rather than a technically gifted but not so athletic striker like Bojan.”

  • Andy H says:

I see Dann coming but not Bojan, I think Wickham will come as the 4th striker. I could see Jefferson coming from Barca, right age (23), good schooling (played with Pedro and Messi), and would be relatively cheap (year left on his contract)

AS LONG AS THEY ARENT ENGLISH AND OVER PRICED.. SCOTT DANN LOOKS GOOD AND THE BARCA KIDS WOULD BE GREAT.. HOPEFULLY THEY HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET EDEN HAZARD..

  • M. says:

Please no more English, unless it’s only Jack Willshire & Conor Wickham; they are over hyped & over priced. In Carroll & JH we have already lost/over paid at least 20 mn. With 55 mn, we could have Hazard, Ma’villa & Shakho.

Honestly, after watching the German boys toying with the 2 English CBs, I don’t think apart from physical presence, English upcoming CBs are technically that good. I ‘ll always dream of a LFC back four or Cissokho, Shakho, Santon & Kelly in 2 years time.

For day dreaming, I wish, for 2014/15 season, we are starting the season at a new stadium with this line up (4-2-3-1)

    1.Raina
    2. Kelly, 4. Santon, 5. Shakho, 3. Cissokho
    6. Willshire, 8. Ma’villa
    11. Gareth Bale, 7. Suarez, 8. Hazard
    9. Carroll

    Bench
Gulasci, Wisdom, Coady, Henderson, Starling, Suso, Wickham

if u think Gerrard will be retired in 3 years time, u should think again. then wats the thing with Willshere? the guy has bn very impressive this season but still I havn’t been able to spot one thing he’s really good at – dribbing? pace? passing? shooting? crossing? marking? set pieces?let me know when u decide to tick any of this boxes.
lest I forget, the guy is one footed. there is no way he can play for Liverpool, not in the next five years.

I have seen Conner Wickham at first hand, would be great but feel he needs one more season, would suggest buy and loan to a premier leagu,e club jobbie, Scott Dann makes sense as does N’zogbia, add a LB and would save the rest until the following season

You lot play too many football games.
Just because it works on ur playstation
Doesnt mean it will in real life.
Players have a say where they go for reasons
    Like; Geography, European competition and
because their wag says so. Then have to
Fit into the team with right mentality.

  • daboy says:

I think Mata Martinez and Dann may be great acquisitions as the first two will be top shelf and it is that quality the side is lacking.
Some of the players the club are linked with either are not great value or lack the class necessary which is worrying.

  • Jack says:

I prefer Benega because he is half of masch and alonso…this type of player is what we are looking for and I reckon he would come around <10M..

  • Gerrardious says:

wats it with u guys and all these academy rejects? Jeffren? Bojan? are u jokin? Bojan might be manageable cos he’s technicilly good but lookin at his build, style of play and form over the last two years, it will be a mistake to sign him. U want us to cough out money for players who are not good enough to represent their countries just because they play in a club who’s style of play makes them look good. remember that even a crap player like Gudjonsen played there and still scored over 20 goals. we’ve seen times without number how young spanish players cant hit it in england bcos of the total contrast in our style of play. see guys like Pachecho, Merida, Dos santos, Gerrard Pique, matured players like Morientes, Reyes, even Silva needed half a season to adapt to our style of play.
this was the only reason i wanted us to sign Young, cos though not very skillful n explosive, he is fast, STRONG, and there is really no risk involved.
I will be glad if we can sign Mata, cos if he adapts quickly, he’ll be a fantastic signing.
so pls, enough of all this Bojan(will flop like Dos Santos) and Jeffren(will neva be beta than Kuyt) jokes. Nzogbia is easily beta than the two of them.

  • Gerrardious says:

Dann is more like the present day Carragher. cant hold ball, lacks pace, likes to sit deep, gets stuck in. he’s more like Shawcross, Samba, Huth etc. he might be cheap but isn’t class. we should look to sign exciting agile players who can add some flair, pace and can hold the ball cos i dont want to see up hoofing the call from back to front(like Carragher n Skrtel) simply bcos Carroll is there. Also as much as it pains me to say, lets sell Agger if his fitness doesnt improve. also Aurellio. maybe we should keep Konchesky.. b4 u guys call for my head, just remember that, he’s English and will help up comply with the homegrown rule. at least, he wont be the worst back up player ever.
anyone who knows Aly Cissokho well should give of some basic info.
    how good is he???
