Rory Smith in the Daily Telegraph is reporting that Lyon’s Croatian defender Dejan Lovren is the first alternative if the Reds fail to land primary target Scott Dann from Birmingham City. Smith believes that despite Dann’s boyhood allegiance to Liverpool, he may be persuaded to move to Arsenal with the prospect of Champions League on the cards. Arsene Wenger believes Dann is better value for money than Bolton’s Gary Cahill. Lovren is a favourite of Damien Comolli, and if manager Kenny Dalglish fails in his bid for the Blues defender, the Lyon star will be next on the target list.

This week it is LFC WAG Clio Zenden!

I wouldn’t believe the torygraph if my life depended on it, if we want him and a fee is agreed I guarantee Scott Dann will be a Liverpool player

Why cant both Lovren and Dann be picked up?

Fair enough andy H, if you don’t believe in paper talk but it was recently proved that the daily telegraph is the most accurate for football rumours and the daily star is the worst. I also believe that we need two central defenders to replace Storios and either Skertal or Agger. Whilst I woul hate to lose Agger his injury record means you can’t build a defence round him. And with carragher coming to the end we would need quality replacements. Ultimately Martin Kelly will fill a role there but for now he will learn to grow into the team.
