Liverpool are targeting Tottenham Aaron Lennon, according to the People. Director of Football Damien Comolli will look to complete a deal for Aston Villa’s Stewart Downing before going after Lennon. The paper believes that Comolli is aware that the winger may fancy a move back up North (he moved from Leeds at 16) and that Spurs would be willing to sell. Comolli brought Lennon to Spurs in his spell at Spurs back in 2005, and is aware Kenny Dalglish is looking to add pace and width to his team. Dalglish is said to be equally keen to sign the 24 year old.

Some p*ss poor comments here. No thanks to any of these players for the figures quoted. Don’t understand why were buying a bulk of centre midfielders, unless there playing elsewhere I don’t know. Think we have about 10 in the first team and more linked and supposedly buying. Man united leave Liverpool in their wake. Why? They needed a centre half, they got one, they needed another winger, they got one, a keeper, they got one, buying quality in the positions needed. Lfc need a left back? Haven’t got one? 3 or 4 wingers? Haven’t got any? Need another quality forward? Haven’t got one. Buy 4 new midfielders when we already have 10? Just doesn’t make sense. The players were linked with are not even that good. Liverpool needed 4 good quality players, left back, 2 wingers minimum and a forward. The bulk of the transfer kitty should of been spent on them 4 areas and then we can add the odd player later on.
I’m worried to be honest, especially spending so much on that Henderson, poor mans carrick in my book

Fitzy calm down mate ! utd got them players because of champions league we tried to sign two of them they went to utd so we have tried to buy the top players as for the midfield well obviously Kenny is not happy with the midfield we have and wants to re organise the positions he is not happy with I think Kenny has tried to buy the left back but is being priced out of a deal by Newcastle wingers we have been linked with nzogbia , downing , mata , and several other wingers and we have been linked with a center forward from France only this week and to put your mind at rest Fitzy mate I remember two signings Kenny made last time that every one was scratching their heads at a young lad from watford and a young lad from newcastle we could not understand his logic but barnes and beardsly turned out ok dont you think so lets give Hendo a chance to show his worth fizy mate

I agree with Ricky. Mata has already said he will not move from Valencia. Adams and Stewart shd be good players under Kenny & surrounded by other good experienced players. Aaron Lennon will make a good fast winger and with a new left back and an experienced CB Liverpool will be back on track and once back in top 4 other more super players will join us next season. This season must be a consolidating one and KK knows well what he is doing.

What everybody keeps forgetting is that the transfer window for European players only opens on July 1. The players we’ve been linked with or bought, ie Hendo/Adam/Lennon/Downing, are all quality players who would add real depth to a fairly small squad of experienced players. The kids coming through need time, and Kenny will know how to blood them slowly. Should we buy too many high-profile players now, the kids like Sterling, Suso, Coady, Pacheco, Flanagan, Robinson…all won’t have much of a shot at getting into the 1st team in 2 yrs time.

    Patience is required.

REMEMBER we are only being linked with these players…. by papers who need to sell papers!

Just relax and wait to see what happens.

Liverpool don’t just sign someone cus KK says so, the scout a player for months(years) and then make their mind up. Also we could have players lined up but we can’t come out and say anything as the team were buy from will has to replace that player and if everyone knows that and also knows that the had an extra 15-20mil then this will drive up the price for that club.

So most of the time clubs don’t say anything unless the already have someone lined up to replace the player they are selling… simple Economics.

    Lets just wait and see..
