Valencia manager Unai Emery has confirmed that midfield playmaker Juan Mata is available for the right price. He told Cadena Copa:
“Valencia has to be prepared for a footballer having to leave, either because is he is not wanted or because some big club wants to sign him. We want him to stay and Mata has also expressed his wish to remain at Valencia, but we know that if a big-money offer comes in from any club and it’s good for both the player and the club, it could lead to his exit.”
Mata has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool.

Cannot see it happening now that Downing’s arrived and where full in the centre of midf, although Downing can play on the right and he could fit in on the left. However do we have the funds, we will need to offload a few like Cole, Poulsen Aquilani etc
I think he’s going to Arsenal once Fabregas has left, but would love him at Anfield……YNWA
Suarez and Downing cannot play every game, if LFC are serious about winning then Mata is a player who needs to be signed, simple.
If we do not go for him at least, then we lack the ambition FSG and Dalglish have been promoting. Not sure how many 23 yr old, World Cup, European cup winners with CL and 5yr top flight experiance come up for £20mil ??
Look at Downing and Henderson, might be great signings ? But compare the experiance and the medal cabinets.
