Mark Lawrenson believes Liverpool striker Luis Suarez could be worth as much as £60m in a couple of years. He told BBC Sport:

“Suarez is the big one for me. Lots of people have arrived at Liverpool and people have said ‘they remind me of Dalglish’. Yet they never were because Kenny was so special. Suarez might just be the closest. He’s got all the ability in the world and a real mean streak. He is a top player. I think he might be a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United. He could just take off and in a couple of years’ time you might be talking about a £60m player. Kenny’s eyes light up when he talks about him. He’s got that little bit of everything and when you see goals like he scored at Sunderland last season you ask yourself ‘how’s he done that?’, which was another trait Dalglish had. He’s got great ability. He is very aware of everything, a real team player a handful to play against and, like all South Americans, can really look after himself. Players like Diego Maradona and Carlos Tevez found themselves getting booted on a regular basis but were tough and could give it back. Suarez is the same.”

Suarez scored 2 goals for Uruguay in their Copa America Semi Final win against Peru last night.

This week it is former LFC WAG Claudine Keane!

He’s got everything Goals, assists, set pieces, pace, skill, hunger, agility, strength and soon the Copa America winners medal to add to his league winners medal from Ajax

Im worried this may be a Torres Mark2…unless we hit the big time i can see Barca, Real and Money City sniffing around.

    • Steven says:

As long as they pay up I’m not too concerned! With Torres money, we bought Syarez and Carrol!

The thing is Suarez has been straight up from day one, he said he would have loved to play for Barce before he signed for us, and still holds the desire close to his heart for a move there one day. But at the end of the day Barce will only move for him if he does the job for us and even then he won’t be cheap, n one is bigger then the club, we replaced Owen we replaced Torres and Suarez is no different, but id love him to stay with us for the rest of his career……YNWA

Liverpool to keep this guy forever!

  • koppo says:

Shame Lawro couldn’t use a better way of describing him….”he could be worth £60 million in two years….he could be off….” Why not suggest he could be a catalyst for other top players to come to us….

I must admit when I first saw him run out I immediatly thought of Kenny in his hay day and when he is up front with Carroll I can almost see Kenny and Tosh.
Hopefully we will start to climb back towards the top of the league with the players the the “King” is putting together, meaning that Suarez will never need to leave to get success

  • MB says:

We know at least he will be with us for some time to come. Let us enjoy it and win things so he will want to stay.

even IF this does become reality, there is always going t0 be the next ‘big’ player in the making. We got shot of Torres, and got Suarez and Carroll. Not bad business at all! Suarez has hit the ground running and has been doing great for his country. Hopefully, we can ease him into the new season and he can crack on from last season!! Carroll is immense and can only get better – and now we have a winger with a decent cross…. so it’s all looking much more positive and balanced in our squad!!

As a Liverpool fan I must be worried a little that the club is selling players of great value.

I’m not bothered that Torres left, but Xabi Alonso left before him, than Mascherano…

If the club is not able to match the ambition of great players they will leave.
There is only one Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool must come back in CL this season and be fighting for titles the next or we will see our best players force their way out of the club, and that is not what we want from our club.

    • zahid says:

I agree with you, i think that’s the problem with foreign players although with Alonso it was diff, and thats one of the reasons KK is signing British they usually stay longer and they have more hunger for the PL then foreigners who just want the CL, but that’s some players for you.

  • Redblood7 says:

Suarez is pure class and he doesn’t need good form to be better, if he finds form as well with andy etc we cud win the whole thing by 10 points. We cud be in for a really significant season here, but unless we sign defenders we will still be vulnerable at the back. There going to be lots of parking the bus against us this season, we know we can attack and so does everyone else, the question is… Can we defend (set pieces et al)? We need impenetrable defence now and kk’s touch….. Please God may this not be our blindspot. (like Wengers)

  • Redblood7 says:

Oh and this guy could be 100 m plus, he really is that good. He beat 4 manure defenders in the box with no space and the keeper. He doesn’t need good form to achieve that. That’s not gud, it’s awesome.

  • Clyde says:

It will all even out because in a couple of years the £35m Andy Carroll would only be worth £3,500.

  • Lifelongliverpoolfcfan says:

As long as barca have messi, Suarez will remain at Liverpool – #ynwa

  • mrbing says:

guys lets get real, ALL foreign players will go to barca if they come sniffing! who wouldnt!

i think that is part of the thinking behind dalglish buying english players, foreigners come and make a name then give out demands look at adebayor, tevez, robinho, and now modric. either that or they get homesick or cant adjust

english players tend to stay at their club, dont move abroad and any english that join us could probably only be tempted by moving to arsenal or chelsea which id like to think we wont sell to
