Not an open transfer window seems to pass lately without a ‘Fabregas to Barcelona’ saga, or a ‘Tevez wants to move…’ story. This summer we can also add Charlie Adam, Stuart Downing, Luka Modric and Samir Nasri transfer saga’s to the list. Whilst they can begin as exciting and intriguing stories, they can then fast fade into annoyances to fans who just wish the window would hurry-up and close.
With that in mind, I take a look at ten great transfer stories that have excited, enraged or simply bored the life out of us, with the time it took to complete the protracted deals…
