Agger: “He’s learning all the time and has a big future”

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has been full of praise for team-mate Danny Wilson. The Danish international was hugely impressed by his performance against Denmark for Scotland last week:

“He played so well – that’s why they won the game. At such a young age, he has gone so far. To play for your national team at that age is amazing. It’s a big thing for me even now but I’m sure it’s even bigger for him. I haven’t had much chance to play beside him yet but you can see he’s a calm player, a strong player. He’s young and has a lot to learn but if he continues to work hard he can go far. He’s a quiet guy in the dressing room but sometimes you forget he’s only 19. And he wouldn’t be playing in a game like the one we played at Hampden if he didn’t have the mentality to go into the Premiership and play. He’s learning all the time and has a big future.”

Wilson is unlikely to feature in many first team games for Liverpool this season and could make a return to Rangers on loan.
