Both John Aldridge and Mark Lawrenson believe signing Craig Bellamy would be a “no-brainer.” Writing in his column for the Liverpool Echo, Aldo said:
“Liverpool are being linked with a move for Craig Bellamy. For me, this deal is an absolute no-brainer. Bellamy is quick, can play anywhere across the front line, and is well respected within the Anfield dressng room. If David Ngog leaves for Bolton, replacing him with Bellamy would be a great move on Kenny’s part.”
Meanwhile Lawrenson in the Liverpool Daily Post said:
“Bellamy can play wide right or left as well as up the middle, and his pace troubles people. You’d have to deal with his knee injury and his strong personality, although I don’t think he could throw his weight around in the current Liverpool dressing room. But for a free transfer, it does seem a bit of a no-brainer.”
