Lawrenson: Liverpool maybe too dependent on him

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes the Reds maybe overly reliant on Luis Suarez, but it is unsurprising given his quality. He wrote in his column for the Liverpool Daily Post:

“Luis Suarez was again influential, and over the course of the season there’s a worry Liverpool could become over-reliant on the Uruguayan. But then he is such a good player that, like when Dalglish played, the team is bound to miss him when he’s not there. Of those at the club right now, who else is capable of playing in that role?”

Lawrenson felt the Sunderland match was the proverbial game of two halves and Kenny Dalglish would have learned a lot about the team in the second half:

“Frustrating for the fans, who have seen their team bring in plenty of new players and, given the manner in which Kenny Dalglish’s men ended last season, were probably expecting a comfortable home win. Perhaps Dalglish will learn more from the second-half showing than he would have from the first. Indeed, had Liverpool instead started poorly and improved after the break, it could have masked some of the issues that clearly still need to be addressed.”

This week it is former LFC WAG Jennifer Ellison!!

Funny, that. There was me thinking we totally relied on Gerrard.

Lazy assumptions by a lazy ‘journalist’; just mimicking what a few other people said at the weekend. If that’s the case, then I’m going to make the spurious statement that Liverpool rely on David Ngog, we just don’t play the same without him in the team.

    Idiot, Lawrenson.
