He brings a new dimension to a very traditional team

|

His touted partnership with Carroll has, up until this point, failed to launch and it’s frustrating to lament what might have been, (and what Suarez had expected before his arrival,) that he would be playing up front with Torres.

In saying that, Liverpool fans practically across the board prefer their new number seven to their old number nine and it is a testament to his work rate that even in games where he misses gilt-edged opportunities he still walks off the field the unanimous man of the match and the game always becomes more electric with every touch he makes.

It is of course part of the modern game too that players rile one another in sub plots of personal one-upmanship and this seemed to take a sinister turn following Evra’s accusations last weekend, as if it wasn’t bad enough that Suarez had offended the entire African continent with his exploits in the last world cup! Suarez can be abrasive but I doubt he could be this venomous and his personal response was telling of his character; ‘I go to the field with the maximum illusion of a little child who enjoys what he does, not to create conflicts.’ I agree with the first part a little more than the second.

i dont think he is always great for the team. he tends to expect alot from his team mates and shows disappointment after every failed attempt on goal. this could be discouraging.
i am a fan but he needs to learn to get 100% out of the team to really shine.

Suarez is a great player in the mould of Ian St. John but he gets little protection from local referees.

Things have gone awfully quiet here for the last few weeks, wonder what is going on!
