When Liverpool went 1-0 down to Stoke City in the League Cup on Wednesday night, it looked like being a familiar story. The Reds had been on top for much of the first-half, and created far more goalscoring opportunities, just as they had done when the two sides met in the league in September, when the Potters claimed victory thanks to a penalty.

However, this time, Kenny Dalglish’s side fought back. Refusing to be bullied by Stoke’s physical style, and with the Reds fans in fine voice, they got themselves back into the game with a world class goal from Luis Suarez, before the Uruguayan got on the end of Jordan Henderson’s cross to head in a late winner.

I am currently studying Sports Journalism at the University of Central Lancashire. I have recently finished my first year of the course, and I am hoping to hone my skills by writing pieces for live4liverpool.

I have supported Liverpool since the age of 6, and in that time my favourite player has been Robbie Fowler. My favourite match was the 2005 Champions League final against AC Milan.
