Do Liverpool actually have enough firepower up front?

|

One of the main topics concerning Liverpool this week has been their lack of ruthlessness in front of goal recently. With no team hitting the woodwork more times than Liverpool this season and unnecessary points being dropped against inferior opposition it has made me question whether the reds have enough firepower up front to compete at the top.

There is no doubt we have one of the best strikers in Europe in Luis Suarez, but his finishing in front of goal this season has been unspectacular to say the least. The Uruguayan is actually so good that in my eyes the only thing stopping him from being recognised as the best striker in the league is the amount of gilt-edged chances he has missed. To emphasise the quality of our number 7, the fact that he has missed a host of chances this term hasn’t prevented him from being Liverpool’s top scorer and he is seemingly nearly always involved in the build up to our goal scoring opportunities.

Whether it’s down to injuries or a bad lifestyle, Andy Carroll hasn’t done as well as he could have in a Liverpool shirt so far. He has shown signs of improvement in recent games which is positive but for his price tag he will need to be more threatening in front of goal. Whereas Suarez seems to always be in the right place at the right time for a goal scoring opportunity, Andy Carroll appears to have the opposite problem; meaning he doesn’t get into the best positions on a regular enough basis for him to benefit. Carroll has missed chances for sure, but not on the same scale as Suarez. Against West Brom the former Newcastle United man showed that in one on one situations he can have a cool head, and the only thing I would say he needs to improve is his off the ball movement to get himself into those situations.

As for Craig Bellamy I am definitely one of the many who would like to see the Welshman start more games up front alongside Suarez. Bellamy’s pace and energy have made him one of my favourite Liverpool players to watch this season and you can’t say he hasn’t been good enough to make the first XI. He is one of those players who always looks like he can make something happen and I truly believe that a bit more playing time alongside Suarez could turn Liverpool’s forward department into a destructive force.

  • Though of having the best striker in europe Luis Suarez and points being dropped against inferior opposition the 0-0 draw against Swansea show you of not having great Evolution in Liverpool game nor in attacking or in counter attack nor of free kick or corner in each matches Liverpool played the facts remains and it’s accumulate the solution is to correct the mistakes to be “accurate” to increase the power of Liverpool fc in higher level if not the consequence can be a disaster for others coming matches it’s not only K Dalglish or the assisstant it’s also the Academy job for the Evolution YNWA
