The solution to some of our attacking woes?

|

To say this season has been frustrating would be a serious understatement. Liverpool’s inability to kill off teams during games is costing them dearly and with each bad result, the task facing the reds for Champions League qualification becomes tougher and tougher. With the year almost at an end, the start of the January transfer window is beginning to loom, which means it’s almost time for us to put our football manager hats on and start dreaming of new signings.

The first thing I would say is that I really do believe in the squad Kenny Dalglish has assembled. The kind of frustration we are feeling now is a more positive one than it was year ago. Back during Roy Hodgson’s reign, we were near the bottom of the table and frustrated at how dire Liverpool’s squad had become, whereas now our frustration is built on the fact that we could easily have been in second place right now.

Liverpool’s wastefulness in front of goal this season is a cause for concern, but in hindsight it’s positive to know that the team is regularly creating chances. We all remain hopeful that Liverpool’s players will get over this period of inaccuracy in front of goal as soon as possible and I definitely believe the squad is strong enough to go on a winning run of games. As for January, it gives the boss a chance to add the finishing touches to what is already a pretty strong squad of players. The question is, what type of players should Liverpool be looking at to help the team find more goals?

Due to our goal shy record this season, an obvious type of player that springs to mind is a new striker. It is clear that the Suarez and Carroll partnership has a long way to go before it truly works and in the meantime, no one would complain at the addition of a top, reliable marksman to the squad. Another type of player that springs to mind in regards to new recruits is a tricky right sided winger with pace to burn. Liverpool have done well to add a bit more pace to the team in the shape of Downing, Enrique and Bellamy but despite that the squad still lacks a creative right winger capable of both torturing and unlocking defences.

Need a top class striker, a right winger and a CB.

“In my opinion, the best type of player to get may just be a high quality right winger who can play up front if needed.”

Great, but who would you bring in?

Daglish is not the right person for liverpool fc. We need a modern day coach like Frank Rijkaard who knows and reads game very well. I must tell you, Barca’s progress started from him. 2ndly, we need better players to help our good players Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Kuyt, Suarez, Gerrald. And those players are Eden Hazard, Tevez or Llorente, Ever Banega, Cahill. We don’t need Carroll, Downin, Adams, Henderson, Johnson. These players don’t have what we need. They can’t get us any where.

kenny is now queen kenny.buys poor players.gets beaten even by sunderland, swansea, norwich at home becoz those draws are loses.we need to buy damiao/llorento for striker.bench carol pliz.we need boudebouz/lucas(sao paulo)/hazard/gortzee for creative midfielder who provides killer passes.we need a winger like adam johnson.we need a defender.otherwise kenny is just like roy except that he is a legend and roy isnt.with the money kenny got,i sometimes think roy could have bought better players.look he bought meirelese who played well till dalglish stupidly sold him to chelsea.

Well written article once again ridiculously over the top comments. Once Suarez and Carroll find a bit of composure in front of goal and start taking their time to place goals instead of blasting every chance because they’re desperate to score we will have one of the best attacking teams in the league, we are creating more chances than everybody but city and only Newcastle have a better defensive record. Saying that I do agree right wing and up front are the places we need to strengthen and I’d go for Shakiri and Van Wolfswinkel. Shakiri needs the chance to prove himself at a higher level he has always been brilliant at every level he has played and 10-15 million would probably be enough to buy him. Think Wolfswinkel currently has 11 goals in 14 games for sporting since they bought him for less than 5 million in the summer so offer them 15 I think they’d take it. Both are realistically players we could sign who fit the fsg model and are currently amongst the best in Europe in their positions and both players would see a move to us as a step up in their careers so should be possible to convince them to move. If we went for centre back I’d offer 10 million for Cahill but with Coates, Wilson, Wisdom and maybe Kelly and Coady all coming through I’m not convinced we need one especially with such a good defensive record.

This article goes2show us Kenny’s buys are crap.Have U ever seen a caretaker coach when made coach successful? No!!!We all insulted Rafa cos of his poor buys but would he spend £35M on that fake No.9?Never!!!We all wanted british buys but what about D reserve. Are they crap? No.Y ManU have gud brit players is cos they are from D reserve&Sir Goat has an eye4talent.We wasted millions on Downing,Andy,Adam(Hendo played on D wrong position&has talent) all cos of Kenny.I’m no Rafa fan but if&if he had that amount of money, would he waste it like Kenny? In my mind,we need a gud RMF,a gud CF,a gud passer of D ball who reads D game well cos Adam is a waste,CB not needed.Pls let them not B british except A.Johnson.If we don’t do this, well another season wit no europe here we come.YWNA!!!
