Where do we draw the line between error and incompetence?

|

A full blooded, fair and ball winning tackle that had the defender in me clapping and whooping with admiration. That was until Mr Kevin Friend flashed a red card in the face of Jay Spearing. There is no denying contact was made with the player, but that was after the ball was won. “Every object in a state of motion remains in that of motion unless an external force is applied to it.” Sir Isaac Newton.

As much as he would have liked, it was impossible for Spearing not to make contact with Dembele. A collision has occurred but not as a result of foul play. A yellow card would have been harsh. A red card is ridiculous. I am at a loss. If it wasn’t for the general bad decisions in the league so far this season I would advise the FA to investigate the cricket spot fixing scoundrels to see if they were also football fans.

This weekend alone, Cahill was shown a red card for a yellow card offence at best, Wolves conceded a penalty from a Larson dive that would have made Michael Phelps proud and let me not mention the Blackburn corner against Wigan one week earlier.

Again, I understand people are fallible, but where do we draw the line between error and incompetence? After a Wigan gets relegated by that one point they would have had if they had the draw against Blackburn? After Liverpool miss out on the Champions League by a point (or three) that was stolen from us last night by Kevin Friend? Yes, we should not have left it in the hands of Kevin Friend by not taking the chances to finish Fulham off when we had them, but something needs to be done.

As KD said after the match, it was obvious LFC were never going to get anything that night. How is it that Dempsey was allowed to go at and bump Bellamy, right in front of Friend, and stay on the pitch? How many other players would have gone down like a sack of wet cement in that situation, Bellamy didn’t. How Dempsey was not sent off I have no idea, many have seen an early dressing room for a lot less. Ultimately LFC should have had the game put away by time any of the really questionable incidents happened, they didn’t and it cost them.

It is time to unite as liverpool as it appears our team and players are being targeted. I could almost feel Kevin friends hatred towards Suarez, Bellamy and Liverpool.Suarez can improve though but nothing compares to the Hypocrisy of the English FA.Let us support our own as they clearly are out to demoralise us.We must prove ourselves for in adversity comes the sweetest of victories. LFC WILL NEVER WALK ALONE

totally agreed! there are pics of Rooney, Ashley Cole giving fingers and not getting punished.
it seems there is a collective decision to target Liverpool. so fine… we’ll stay united and victory shall come….

Watch a replay if you can, Friend’s facial expressions toward LFC were completely different than when he was communicating with FFC players.

  • Only God knows when they are going to equalise the justice by using the Technology where you must accept whatever they decide boycotting a player named Suarez where he scored awell played goal to an unvisible offside where several time not seen in video the linesman saw that only once
