This Is No Longer A Joke…

WTF? I hear a million LFC fans screaming with me.

How on earth does this happen? And keep happening, again and again and again? And what the flying, fulminating fiddlesticks can anyone do about it?

There was some beautiful football on display against West Brom.

The midfield, for once, wasn’t keeping the ball to itself, but was getting balls into the box with impressive fluency.

Suárez was sublime, as he always is except where it counts. Liverpool were a footballing side in the best Anfield tradition. But….

At half-time, after 45 minutes of total Liverpool dominance with nothing to show for it, I pondered popping down to the bookies next door to see what I could get on a 1-0 win for West Brom. But I decided that would be unacceptably disloyal. Silly arse. (I should have remembered that any horse or team I bet on is automatically doomed.) But I could see it coming, and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.

But we can’t just blame this on luck. There’s something wrong. And what on earth can be done? In the sixteenth century it would have been easy. We’d have fitted up some poor old woman for putting a curse on the Anfield goalposts and burnt her at the stake. But of course we’ve moved on from there. Or have we? Sacking the manager for our inability to bang it in after flawless build-up play would make about as much sense as burning witches.

We have seen Kenny preparing to fall on his sword if it’s required of him. One thing about Kenny, he’s not a narcissist or a bullshitter. When he says that it’s all about the club, not about him, he means it. I can easily grasp the idea that Kenny, though an unparalleled servant of the club, may not necessarily be the right man for the job at the present juncture. As he says, he didn’t seek the job; he was asked to step in at a difficult point, and he gave it all he had. No-one doubts that. I really don’t want Kenny to leave Anfield with anyone thinking he’s let the club down. He’d never do that, and I for one will never make any such suggestion.
[ad_pod id=”unruly-video” align=”center”]
But it’s a terrible irony that Kenny Dalglish, who had an unerring eye for goal back in the day, might lose his job for presiding over a team which couldn’t find the goal if it was a bass drum in a telephone kiosk.

But one has to ask questions about the training. I wasn’t the only one who watched that video of the “skills challenge” between Luis, Hendo and Seba Coates, where they had to hit the crossbar, and asked myself “hang on a minute, do LFC really need any more practice at hitting the woodwork”? And Hendo won the challenge, and guess who slammed it into the frigging West Brom crossbar? We have to laugh, or else we’d cry.

After all, it looks as though the Bitters – who at least took two points off Man Ure – may have got the better of us this season, even despite three defeats. And thus it looks like we’re headed for eighth place. Eighth? There isn’t such a place. Yes, all right, we’ve been there before. In 1994. And before that? Nineteen-sixty-frigging-THREE! And, if we don’t hold on to eighth, it’ll be the worst performance over a season since the pre-Shankly era. However many cups we win.

D’you hear that lads? It’s eight feet high. It’s eight yards wide. It’s made of wood and painted white. It’s got netting at the back. Now GET THE FREAKING BALL IN THERE!

Do any of you actually talk to other football fans? LFC is a JOKE at the moment and the more infighting we do the more it fans the flames. KK is clearly failing and I expect the owners to remove him this summer. He was asked to fill in, emotion got the better of the owners and £110m later we are a midtable team. Something I don’t seeing repeated this summer…YNWA

I have come to the conclusion that the players must practice how to spoon chances during training, there can be no other explanation, other than the fact that the players are spineless chokers and serial letdown merchants.
We have dross like Spearing, who can only pass sideways, in midfield, hes a championship player at best, you just know as he runs on a shot that its going high and wide and thats even before he hits it, other players like Downing and Henderson are not winners, they get to Liverpool and think ‘right ive made it now let me just cash that wasge slip’, this also is Dalglish’s fault, and he should have been sacked weeks ago, this would not be tolerated at any other club in Europe, so why is it tolerated at Liverpool? its a sick joke!.
Perhaps just perhaps he will finally be sacked after Chelsea put 5 or 6 past us in the cup final.
I’d take Rafa back in a split second, if thats not to be then we need somebody like Frank Rijjkaard who laid the foundations of the current Barca Dynasty, but would he leave the mighty Saudi national team for Liverpool?.

As a Liverpool boyhood fan,I’m feeling very uncertain regadin our future…….Bill Shankly the late great Shanks, poured his heart n soul into makin this club the greatest team in the world…….imagine how he would be feeling right now, given the erratic seasons we hav endured………the players bought by Dalgleish, have served LFC with no sense of so called duty or honor to the red n white of LFC,players like Henderson, caroll,Adam,Downin, all have not put in displays worthy of LFC greats before them……we have spent so much on youth development but where’s the evidence on the field, players like Sterling, suso, the youngster we got from Sportin Lisbon, when will dey be given a chance, you would have thought that since there’s not much to play for in the League we would give them a runout for next season….. where are we going wrong, how much more humiliation do we as LFC supporters have to endure from the Mancs who have asserted their domination in the league, can we say that our glory times where a 1 off item, that Mancs are the really best team in the league, has our only sense of pride n honour remain reliving those glory days…….why I say this is that I feel our great team is so far away from winning the league that’s its so unreal…….KK as manager should also have some sort of responsibility towards LFC,or has he gotten soft and is not capable of finding enough to motivate the players……all I’m sayin is as LFC fan…..where are we headed to in the future……I pray to God that our glorious past will soon be relived for all concerned past and present, with this magnificent club.

FOOLGLISH is a complete idiot ? And I’m a lpool fan,he has zero knowhow on modern football ? Shocking tactics,Shambolic substitutions? Need I go on !!! Then we get too sightings,oh dear,Disgraceful springs too mind !!! All overpriced, all overpaid,All Championship Quality Players…For this alone FOOLGLISH must be SACKED,don’t let the fool move upstairs,he doesn’t deserve it ? Sack him, then the players will understand what is expected to play for LFC…

    • Shibashis says:

I mean how exactly do you talk like that about Daglish? I will ask again, how?
Look here, I am not a fan of this season’s results, he has failed in many respects, but HOW exactly do you comment on a LEGEND of the club in that way? Criticize him, yes please do. No one is immune to criticism. But Kenny deserves better treatment, remember what he has done for the club.
Even I will agree that perhaps it is time to let Kenny go, but don’t call him names.

  • vishnu says:

Plz sell Reina,he’s not motivated to play for us,look at the soft goal he conceded inda weekend…..as a keeper u always defened ur near post, that’s 2x now……RVP als beat him with a sitter……plz get Al Habsi he’s a better keeper, reflexes are superb or get the Sunderland keeper….he’s also very good…….

  • NJRedsFan says:

Clint Dempsey would be perfect compliment to Suarez. He’s strong, creative, aggresive and would be a great addition to LFC squad

  • vishnu says:

We need to ask ourselves…..where is it that we are headed as a football club, our proud history&great managers, all mean nothing if we can’t get things right on the pitch………as it stands we as LFC fans shud b proud of our teams performance but yet week in&week out our teams performances are earning us more humiliation&ambarassment from other clubs&we have been labelled as a part of history but no future…..is that what we want, the owners have given KK more than 100m to spend,we end up buyin less than average players when we shud b going for top talent likes of Mata,Cavani, etc…we need to stop messin about………the only way to fix this is to go big or else we find ourselves playing in the Championship if it continues like this….some serious choices lie ahead for FSG&LFC in the summer

  • vishnu says:

Spend big like Man City,PSG or we miss out on league title,CL,end up playin in Europa lge……not good enuf for fans, players,LFC as a whole….

  • Flauvio says:

Let’s sack KD and all the players we’ve bought over the past 18 months so we can start from scratch again … surely that will be progres. Let’s discard every single trophee bar the EPL and CL because those are what matters to those who spend too much time playing football manager. Let’s slack off all our players so they understand that we are slowly morphing into an army of Chelskis for whom consistency is an unknown. Let’s buy nothing but international players pretending that the fair play rules will not be implemented in the not so distant future. Hmmm I’m not quite sure that would work so instead I suggest all you muppets who cannot fathom that KD is in his first full season, as is Doni, Coates, Enrique, Henderson, Adam, Downing, Suarez, Caroll and Bellamy, and it takes time to build a strong side start to support the project. A project which may end up with 2 out of 3 trophees in its first season.

  • It’s seem a bit tough for all of 0-1 defeat against WB the solution is not to blame or criticise Dalglish and his squad for that defeat At the moment mostly for all team Optimum counter attack and score individually than attacking create space and it’s became more difficult to cross ball in the net with a crowded defenders infront of the post that the cause of Liverpool defeat and draws if you compare the game played from the most talented players team Barca vs Chelsea and that of Liverpool vs West BA we saw the same tactics and the same result that’s mean any team can do that if you give them the opportunity that happen to Liverpool Dalglish have to change a bit the habit of playing more counter attack to win Dalglish have made some improvements and many have to be done what improvements Rafa had done only taking note book in hand ?RAFA could have won the Epl if he could have take great care with the squad he had all were more younger have great potentiality Gerrard Alonso Macherano Garcia Reirra Carragger Babel Lucas Hyypia Arbeloa Crouch and so on he had dond nothing for Dalglish is differents it will take but so much time to be place in the Epl tittle winner
