A POSSIBLE move for Peruvian winger Juan Manual Vargas is back on the cards for Liverpool FC after his agent, Jorge Cyterszpiler, confirmed the Reds are ‘an option’ for his client.
Cyterszpiler, who rose to fame as Diego Maradona’s agent and childhood friend, spoke to popular Italian website tuttomercatoweb.com, responding to yet more speculation surrounding his client’s future with Fiorentina:
“There is the possibility that he will leave Fiorentina, but at this time it’s just a rumour and there is nothing official. He didn’t have the best of seasons and he needs to make up for it next season.
“Liverpool is an option, but there is also Malaga, which has the attraction of playing in next season’s Champions League. Does he have a preference with regards to playing the Premier League or the Primera Liga? Vargas likes both leagues as well as the Serie A.”
The Peru international has been linked with the Reds on numerous occasions in the past, however with just a year remaining on his Viola contract, it remains to be seen whether the club from Florence will choose to cash in this summer.
Vargas, now 28-years old, joined Fiorentina in 2008 where he has made 104 appearances, scoring 12 goals in the process, since signing from Catania for a fee of €12 million.
